Have you ever been part of building a new website? Or, has
your company gotten a new website built since you’ve been
there? If so, you know that it can be a large task – and
it seem like the work’s not done once the website goes
live. But it needed to be done, so it was a job worth doing.
However, now that it’s live, how often should you update
your website? That can be a more difficult question to find
the answer for.
If we had to guess, we’d say probably 90% of clients who
come to us for SEO help ask this question during the first
meeting: “How fast can my website get on the first page of
Google?” Of course, what they really mean is “how soon
will my website become a lead generator?”
You’ve visited websites that asked you for information
before. And, you may have noticed a trend among them: they
asked you to confirm that you’ve reviewed their privacy
policy. In addition, almost every app you download requires
that confirmation. In order to create an account, you
aren’t able to proceed unless you check that privacy
policy box. It’s a must – even if you haven’t read the
policy. But, what about your business? Does your website
need a privacy policy, or is that just for big apps and
major brands?
As your business grows, you may realize that your website's
existing domain does not fit well. Fortunately, changing the
domain is easy! However, switching domains can have a
negative impact on your SEO ranking if not done well. It can
be challenging to keep domain migration from affecting your
SEO ranking.
Does getting a website mean you get SEO? As it turns out,
the answer depends on what you do after you get your new
site.
